Why I put landlords first
I started LizardProperty in 2004 after years of seeing landlords with three or less properties being hit with hidden fees, inflated maintenance costs, and poor transparency.
Small landlords are the backbone of the private rental sector. They operate on tight margins, often relying on rental income for their livelihood.
I built LizardProperty to offer straightforward advice, transparent fees, and a genuine partnership approach — protecting landlords’ investments instead of profiting at their expense.
LizardProperty was founded on three simple principles:

I knew I could help. LizardProperty was set up to work with a limited number of landlords, so every property and every rental gets proper attention, proper evaluation, clear communication, and advice based on real experience – not scripts or systems. LizardProperty focuses on you and your interests, not a team target.
As legislation strengthens tenant protections and makes regaining possession more complex, the quality of tenant selection becomes absolutely critical. All our applicants are thoroughly vetted and verified through a robust reference process. Placing the right tenant from the outset isn’t just good practice — it’s risk management. If I wouldn’t want the applicant in one of my properties, I wouldn’t place them in one of yours.
